Mary Ellen Kramp, DPT, CLT-LANA
President

Mary Ellen graduated from Springfield College in 1992 with a master's of science degree in physical therapy and received her doctorate from Boston University in 2005. She is a nationally certified lymphedema therapist and yoga instructor and some of her other skills include myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, and visceral manipulation. 


She has published a case series report in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association on manual therapy techniques for the treatment of infertility, has developed the protocol for larger infertility studies, and is currently writing two other case studies.    She is the owner of Relief at Hand, LLC in Seminole, FL.  Mary Ellen has taught courses in various techniques for the pelvis and has been an assistant for the Barral Institute and Herman & Wallace.

Ramona Horton, MPT
Secretary

Ramona C. Horton MPT received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Idaho State University and completed her graduate training in the US Army–Baylor University Program in Physical Therapy in San Antonio, TX.  After exiting the military, she developed a growing interest in the field of pelvic dysfunction and began advanced training in 1993. Ramona serves as the lead therapist for her clinics pelvic dysfunction program in Medford, OR. Her practice focuses on the treatment of men, women and children with urological, gynecological and colorectal issues. Ramona has completed advanced studies in manual therapy with an emphasis on spinal manipulation, visceral and fascial mobilization. She developed and instructs the visceral and fascial mobilization courses for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, presenting frequently at local, national and international venues on topics relating to women’s health, pelvic floor dysfunction and manual therapy.  She has presented at APTA Combined Sections Meeting and published a clinical review on the topic of visceral mobilization for the treatment of pelvic dysfunction.

Jamie Besante-Scomak, DPT
Treasurer

Jamie Besante, PT, DPT, CLT, PRPC is a 2010 graduate from Rutger's doctorate of physical therapy program.  She immediately specialized in Orthopedics and Pelvic Health physical therapy after an inspiring student clinical rotation in Gainesville, FL under Vicki Lukert, PT, PRPC.  It really clicked for her organizing the body as the pelvis being the foundation of the spine.  Jamie brought her new passion back to her home in New Jersey and practices at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin.  She has an insatiable thirst for learning and is certified in lymphedema treatment & management from the Norton School, Lee Silverman Voice Treatment- BIG, and pelvic rehabilitation.  She enjoys lab assisting for the Herman & Wallace Institute and learning from her colleagues. Jamie unwinds with running, yoga and spending time with her family, especially her fiancé, Justin.

Rachel Worman, DPT
Marketing/Public Relations


Rachel Worman, DPT received her B.S. in BioPsychology and Minor in Exercise and Health Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She went on to complete her Master of Physical Therapy degree at California State University, Fresno and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in the first joint doctoral program at the University of California, San Francisco and California State University, Fresno. 

Rachel completed the Folsom Physical Therapy Long-term course for two consecutive years and acted as assistant faculty for the long term and short courses for the following two years, then moved into intermittent lead & assistant faculty work to date. During this time she served as a part-time faculty member at California State University Fresno for three years in addition to completing extensive women’s and pelvic health physical therapy training.  She developed the pelvic health program at Folsom Physical Therapy and founded the Sacramento Valley Pelvic Health Society. Rachel is a founding board member for the Pelvic Health Research Initiative 501c3 and is currently an investigator for the national Mechanical Infertility Systematic Study (MISS). Rachel has authored a chapter for Physical Therapy Treatment of Common Orthopedic Conditions, 2015

Lauren Mansell, DPT
Lauren graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology and from Governors State University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  Her certificationsinclude: Pelvic Rehabilitation Professional Certificate, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Certified Yoga Teacher, WCS eligible, and BCIA-PMD eligible. She is an adjunct Faculty Member at Governors State University teaching Special Topics: Pelvic Rehab to DPT 3 students.  She is also a Board Member for, Chicagoland Pelvic Floor Research Consortium,  Chicago National Organization of Women, and Kankakee County Coalition Against Sexual Assault.  She is practicing Pelvic Rehab at: Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee and Manteno, IL, Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox and HomerGlen, IL, UIC Hospital, Chicago, IL, and JointPro Rehabilition, Frankfort, IL.

Kristina Koch, DPT

Kristina graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, MA in 1996 with her Master of Science in Physical Therapy.  After spending some time as a traveling therapist she moved to California in 2000.  While working in California, Kristina was introduced to the specialty of women’s health.  Immediately she knew this was an area she was interested in and realized a great need for these services.  Since that time, Kristina has taken numerous continuing education courses in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction for women, men and children.  In 2013, Kristina became a certified women’s health therapist (WCS).  Kristina has established women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunction physical therapy programs both in San Diego, CA and at Colorado Sports and Spine Centers in Colorado Springs, CO where she currently lives.  Outside work, Kristina enjoys spending time with her family in the beautiful Colorado outdoors.

Jan Wencel, PhD

Jan Wencel, PhD brings experience in research and grants administration and grant writing to the board. For the past thirteen years, she has been employed in an academic medical environment in the area of pre-award services and grant proposal development. Prior to this, her primary professional focus was higher education administration with over twenty years in college and university student services and instruction.  However, her true passion is training her fox red Labrador Retriever for obedience and dock diving competition, and instructing obedience courses. Jan earned her doctorate and master degree from The Florida State University, and her bachelor of arts from Elmira College.
